Success Story: Rosie
This is Rosie being hugged by Mallory. Rosie had been living with a pack of dogs in Whynot for four or five years, having one or two litters every year. We rescued her last litter of six as well. Since being rescued, life has changed for Rosie forever. She was vaccinated, washed, and spayed and went to her forever home in Brookhaven to live with the Shaw family of five (plus a cat and a Dachshund).
Success Story: Bunny Written by her new owners, Charles and Joy
"We just wanted to drop you an e-mail and let you know how things were going for Bunny. We were expecting several days of standoffish behavior as I have seen with other cats I have brought home. It was of no surprise that as soon as we showed her where the kitty box and food and water containers were that she ran and hid in a little shelf in the laundry room. What we didn't expect was that 15 minutes after that, she was exploring her new home, even though she was being sneaky about it. She pretty much stayed out of sight for a while, but by seven the same night we brought her home, she was coming up to us and wanting some loving. She was still skittish but I was surprised that she had come so far so fast. Now it seems like with every passing hour she is more and more comfortable and less skittish. She climbs in our laps and goes to sleep and follows us all over the apartment. Last night she even slept in the bed with us. I am very blown away that a cat that lived pretty much a feral life prior to your rescue can be so trusting and loving already... We just love our new family member and wanted you to know it."
Success Story: Tootsie
Rodney lost an older dog to cancer. He said he would like his next dog to be small enough to sit in his lap. Rodney got his wish when the perfect little lap-dog came along and it was a perfect match.
Success Story
They drove 11 hours from Ocala, Florida to get the perfect puppy they saw on the web site!
Success Story: Sally
"Our sweet Sally is the joy of our life! We got her almost a year ago,
when she was around 3-4 months old. She was found behind "Outback" and
has a little scar on her back foot. We don't know what her life was
before we adopted her, but she is in heaven now! Having the ability to
adopt Sally and give her a extremely loving home, makes me wonder why
others don't do the same. Our lives are really comlete with her and
wish we had room to adopt many more. Sally has our heart!!! Adopting
from a shelter was the right thing for us. We knew we wanted to help a
dog in need, but had no idea how much love she would give us! She
loves us and wants to be everywhere we are...so we let her!!"
Success Story: Champ
"Champ is precious!!!!!! Here is a recent picture of Champ with his favorite "baby" bunny.
Champ weighs about 75 pounds and still tries to figure out a way to sit in my lap!
He is very sweet and still loves belly rubs and licking! He loves the
water and playing in mud puddles and adores my parent's two Pekinese!
Success Story: Keats
Geezer (who now answers to "Keats") is doing fine. He's adjusted to a
leash, which we don't really need because he's already learned the
boundaries of the yard. I love him very much, and he seems to be happy here. He's very
sociable and very loving. Thank you so much."
Success Story: Pumpkin
Cindy is doing great. She gets along with everyone here. Sometimes she chases the cats and corners it and barks at it. Peanut (Millie) has been giving her a hard time, but she does that with all the new ones. It takes her a few weeks to warm up and accept the new additions. I renamed Cindy "Pumpkin." She is orange and I got her the night before Thanksgiving, plus she is just so cute. Thanks for another great baby.
Success Story: Maggie
Maggie was adopted by Betty Stein of Lake, MS.
EMAR found Maggie at a garbage dump site on a busy highway. She was skin and bones with almost no hair due to sarcoptic mange. Now she looks like a different dog!
Mrs. Stein said she has been inspired to adopt a dog like Maggie from watching Cesar Millan and Animal Cops and believes this gentle and loyal breed is too often mistreated and misunderstood. Maggie will have a wonderful home on 140 acres, but only if she is kind to the ducks and peafowl!!
Success Story: Maggie May Written by her new owner
"I adopted Magnolia "Maggie" May on July 28th at the Bonita Lakes Mall. I just thought I'd drop you a line and a photo to let you know she's getting along wonderfully! She goes to get her stitches out tomorrow at Dr. Shannon's from the spay surgery. She loves to chase the mouse around on the computer screen, and she learns very well from the big cat we have at home (including the big cat's bad habits!)."
Success Story: Bear Written by his new owner, Jordan
"I got my puppy Bear from the East Mississippi Animal Rescue when he
was 3 months old. All their animals were cute, healthy, and happy, but
he caught my eye. He was absolutely adorable. He still is, and I know
that my life just wouldn't be the same without him. That got me
nvolved with the rescue. I am still a volunteer whenever they need
me, and love every minute of it. And Bear is still a happy, healthy, one year old. I can't imagine life without him."
Success Story: Oreo Written by his new owners
"Just a note to let you know that everybody is happy here in Clinton. Oreo
has not stopped wagging his tail, and we are still smiling! You made a great match!
We took him to his new vet last Monday and had the rest of his stitches
removed and a rabies shot as well as a general check up; he is healthy with
only a little tartar on his teeth that needs to be worked on. I started
brushing his teeth the first night, and he just accepts it as part of his
nightly routine — of course, he has learned that he gets a treat afterwards.
We take him on a neighborhood walk late in the evening to see a little shi tzu about his size. He does not pay her as much attention as she pays him,
but he enjoys the walk and sleeps really well at night!"
Success Story: Trixie Written by her new owner
"Trixie and Revo are doing great together! We just love Trixie. She has quite the personality. She is very friendly and not shy at all."
Success Story: Pup Pup Written by her new owners
"Pup Pup is a perfect match for us. Julianna gets up at
6:30 every morning and walks her. We all go for a walk late a night
when it cools down. She plays good with Cameron (17-month-old) and
loves to be petted. She eats good and takes a lot of naps. The kids keep
her busy. Thank you all so much. She is a wonderful addition to our
family."
Success Story: Ellie Written by her new owner
"They don't make too many 'Ellies'! She's so good with my granddaughter. You couldn't ask for a better pet"
